Landmark Deal Between NBC, U.S. Ski & Snowboard and FIS Expands Coverage of Skiing, Snowboarding for U.S. Fans
22/October/2026
U.S. Ski & Snowboard today announced a new broadcast and streaming structure for the 2026-27 season, designed to give U.S. fans a unified, easy-to-navigate viewing experience. As a result, all World Cup skiing and snowboarding throughout the season can be viewed via NBC platforms and YouTube, as well as a Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channel.
Over the last few seasons, fans needed as many as three services to follow a full World Cup season. With this new expanded partnership between U.S. Ski & Snowboard, NBC and the International Ski & Snowboard Federation (FIS), which centralized rights across countries starting in the 2026-27 season, World Cup skiing and snowboarding has become easier to follow throughout the year.
Comprehensive Alpine Coverage on NBC Platforms
Continuing a nearly 30-year partnership, U.S. Ski & Snowboard, FIS and NBC will now stream every alpine World Cup and World Championship live and on demand on Peacock with commentary, plus additional linear coverage on NBC and NBCSN for major events. All alpine races will also be available 24 hours after airing on YouTube.
An Expanded NBC Deal for World Cups on U.S. Soil
All events hosted in the United States across all sports will stream on Peacock, with select events broadcast on NBC and NBCSN. Domestic events will also be available immediately on demand on Peacock.
Additionally, Outside will host full events and highlights on demand from domestic events across all sports on Outside TV. YouTube will also have domestic events 24 hours after airing.
Free Streaming World Cups on YouTube and FAST Channel
U.S. Ski & Snowboard and FIS have also partnered to create a dedicated YouTube channel called Ski & Snowboard World Cup and a FAST channel under the same name that will feature all World Cup and World Championship events held outside the United States in cross country, freeride, freeski, freestyle, nordic combined, ski jumping and snowboard. Every event will stream live with English commentary.
All World Cup and World Championship events will also be available on demand on YouTube, including alpine, giving fans one free destination to catch up on any race they missed. Additionally, YouTube will stream Para alpine, Para snowboard and Para nordic World Championships, along with multiple World Cups, with more information to follow.
The FAST channel, distributed and operated by C15 Studio, will launch in the coming weeks across multiple television platforms.
"For years, fans had to work harder than they should have to watch our athletes compete," said Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. "We are thrilled that the new centralized broadcast strategy we’ve worked on with FIS and the other countries removes that friction. This is a new era, which now makes it easier to watch our sports and follow your favorite athletes. Along with our other content initiatives, this helps to further grow our sports."
“Our expanded partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard and FIS gives NBC Sports an incredible opportunity to connect fans with world-class competition and the athletes at the heart of it all,” said Joe Gesue, SVP, NBC Sports Olympic & Paralympic Programming. “We’re especially proud to showcase this extraordinary generation of stars and tell the stories behind their journeys as we build momentum toward the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”
“Access is everything for the future of our sport,” said Mikaela Shiffrin, three-time Olympic champion and winningest alpine skier of all time. “Most of our races happen in Europe, so time zones have always made it challenging for fans at home to follow along. Now everyone can watch live or on demand, whenever works for them. I’ve been advocating for this for years. When kids can watch ski racing, they can picture themselves doing it, and that’s how ski racing grows.”
“The launch of Ski & Snowboard World Cup reflects our commitment to developing our audience in North America, which is at the same time one of our core markets and also one with immense untapped potential for growth,” says Stefan Brütsch, FIS Chief Commercial Officer. “Looking ahead, we are observing how the global FAST ecosystem is maturing, and our next logical step would be to broaden this direct-to-fan distribution to other markets.”
Fans can track where and when to watch each event throughout the season on U.S. Ski & Snowboard's social platforms and on the website's Watch tab, which will be updated as the schedule progresses.
The season begins with alpine skiing on October 24 with a men’s and women’s giant slalom in Sölden, Austria streaming live and on demand on Peacock, in addition to NBC Sports Network also airing the races on the evening of October 25th.
